RiseTill 1948 Hank Williams played in Shreveport, Louisiana for the "Louisiana Hayride", a famous radioshow which was broadcasted live. Shreveport was far away from Montgomery but it was a radioshow later known as the 'cradle of the stars'. Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley made also their first appearances in Shreveport. His work paid off and he was invited to the "Grand Old Opry", another, more famous radioshow, in the South. His "Honky Tonk Blues" was a huge hit and the audience wanted numerous encores. |
